Why Locals Love Guac y Margys

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Atlanta at 661 Auburn Ave NE, Guac y Margys brings an irresistible flair to the taco restaurant scene, serving up authentic Mexican flavors with an energizing twist. This spot is a true haven for lovers of bold, fresh, and inventive Mexican cuisine, where each dish bursts with life and carefully crafted flavors.

At Guac y Margys, the menu shines with standout offerings like the indulgent Chicken Nachos, featuring seasoned white corn tortilla chips generously layered with house-made queso, smoky chipotle chicken, vibrant fresh pico de gallo, and creamy guacamole. Equally tempting are the Beef Nachos, crowned with perfectly seasoned ground beef, and the tender Pork Nachos, boasting Coca-Cola braised BBQ pork that delivers a succulent, slightly sweet depth of flavor. These nachos transcend the ordinary to become a festival of textures and tastes in every bite.

For those seeking a more bowl-centric indulgence, the Chicken Bowl offers oven-roasted chipotle chicken nestled atop a bed of sazon rice and traditional Mexican black beans, warmed with sautéed peppers, onions, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro. The Ground Beef Bowl balances seasoned beef with zesty lime crema and melted Monterey Jack cheese, accompanied by fresh pico and crisp romaine, creating a satisfying harmony of fresh and hearty elements.

And let’s not overlook the playful yet delicious Foldies, Guac y Margys’ signature take on quesadillas that reverse the traditional order—Monterey Jack cheese grilled to golden perfection is first laid down, followed by a warm flour tortilla, more cheese, fresh pico de gallo, cilantro, and chipotle chicken, all finished with a side of luscious house-made lime crema. The Chicken Foldie and Beef Foldie both invite you to indulge in crispy, cheesy goodness with every savory bite.

Beyond the food, what truly elevates Guac y Margys is its vibrant ambiance and warm, engaging service. Guests repeatedly laud the incredible staff, naming individuals like Kay the bartender and Adam for their attentive and friendly hospitality that makes every visit feel personal and memorable. Whether you’re stopping by after a stroll on the BeltLine or looking for a lively spot to unwind, the atmosphere pulses with upbeat energy without sacrificing comfort or charm.

Drink lovers will find themselves entranced by the expertly crafted margaritas—fresh, strong, and innovative. While the double margarita might come with a slightly higher price tag, many patrons agree it is worth every sip, with flavors so fresh and balanced they perfectly complement any of the delicious food choices. Signature drinks like the classic frozen margarita and exotic fruit options such as mango and passion fruit add a refreshing balance, perfect for relaxing and socializing.

Reviews paint a vivid picture of a delightful dining experience: from seasoned locals who return time and again for their favorite dishes and cocktails, to first-time visitors enchanted by the friendly faces and upbeat vibe. There’s a palpable sense that Guac y Margys is more than just a taco joint—it’s a community spot where quality ingredients, enthusiastic service, and a vibrant atmosphere converge.

In summary, Guac y Margys is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Mexican street food elevated by inventive recipes and a lively, welcoming environment. Whether you're in the mood for hearty nachos, filling rice bowls, or expertly assembled foldies, this restaurant dazzles with flavor and heart. Stop in, savor the freshness, feel the vibrant energy, and let the spirited team guide you through a truly memorable meal in Atlanta’s dynamic culinary landscape.

Ok y’all… exceptional service!! Stop by here while walking on the belt line and listen….the bald guy with glasses(sorry, didn’t catch his name) was suuuuper friendly and personable! He alone made this experience above and beyond! The margaritas were amazing. For the double was $19 a piece, a little high but it was fresh and tasted great! I recommend the empanadas and the so fresh so clean margarita!

Guac y Margys is a good spot for a quick bite and excellent drinks, especially if you're on the move. While the food is solid and the service is friendly, the space isn't really designed for a long, cozy stay. It’s the perfect place to grab something tasty and a refreshing margarita before continuing your walk!

Editing my review since I came back with a friend. Completely different experience than the last. 10/10 would recommend. You absolutely HAVE to try the chicken tacos. They were seasoned to perfection. Hours later and we’re still talking about how good they were. Drinks were strong as usual.

Visited based on a recommendation. Had the classic frozen margarita, which was outstanding, and the other 3 friends had the mango, passion fruit, and G flavors. Also ordered the beef nachos. I consider nachos basic fare, but I have to say, these were absolutely delicious and would highly recommend it! Staff was exceptional. Shout out to Adam! They've got a good thing going here. Keep up the great work!

Our visit got off to a slow start. Upon walking in, there are no servers, only bartenders. We were told, "Welcome in, sit anywhere you want." Being this was our first experience, we sat at the bar. You can sit inside or outside. We were passed over about 5 times before our order was taken by Adam. It was really busy. We ordered the warm bowl, it was small for the price ($12), but tasty. It's also cheaper to order a pitcher ( we had, Ol Atlanta $45) of alcohol vs. purchasing a number of drinks if you're with a large crowd, there's plenty of liquor in it. Overall, it was a cool experience. I'd go back.

Such a fun place. First time visiting and I really enjoyed the 5-star customer service. Every FOH employee had a smile on their face and made sure we were taken care of. The Cauliflower nachos are seriously delicious. The margs are strong and there is a great selection of food.
